Whangerei Heads and Basin

After a lazy, rainy Tuesday of just reading and gazing out the windows, we decided to take advantage of some sunshine and go into Whangerei, the nearest town. That's fang-array. Thanks Uncle Len for sending that tip. I sound like a local now. Well, like an American trying to sound local.

We drove along the coast, past 3 or 4 little bay villages like this one.

Then we came to the Whangerei Heads beach and car park.

But we're off to the Whangerei Town Basin and marina for a late lunch and drive home before dark.





Ahh, back home to join the sheep for another sunset here in Hobbittown.
